Reads is a privately owned, totally unique 5 star luxury hotel with just 23 rooms. Situated at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains it is surrounded by 20,000m2 of landscaped gardens and its own vineyard, beautiful countryside and utter peace and tranquillity yet is just 15 minutes by car or 20 minutes by train from the magic city of Palma. The magnificent stone house dates back to the 16th century and was converted to a hotel over a period of 7 years. The style can best be described as an eclectic mix of contemporary, classic and the designer’s vivid imagination which echo the owner’s philosophy that a hotel must be a theatre of dreams and surprises.

The facilities are at the very highest level and include the 650m2 VESPASIAN Spa, The BACCHUS gourmet restaurant, Bistro 33, Browns cocktail bar, two private salons, 200m2 outdoor pool, all weather tennis court, cycling Centre, a boutique, Wi-fi and PC available for guests, 3 terraces for outside dining, 20,000m2 of landscaped gardens and Reads Vineyard.

The heart of any luxury hotel must be its kitchen, and both of Reads Restaurants, Bacchus and Bistro33, certainly allow Reads to live up to this. Bacchus offers a fine dining experience with an a la carte menu, impressive 12 metre arches and fresco decorated walls. Bistro33 with its menu of bistro style dishes and its setting of the 18th century olive pressing room offers a completely different dining experience to Bacchus.

Cycling on the island has become very popular and Reads has now created a luxury cycle centre featuring bikes from the high profile Dutch bike manufacturer 'GIANT'. The setting of Read’s is perfect for training in the Tramuntana Mountain range or the less demanding central region of the island. Use of the bikes is included in the accommodation package prices subject to availability.

The VESPASIAN Spa is a spa in the true meaning of the word. This 650m2 building is just 20 metres from the main hotel building and has been designed, without regard to expense, only to relax the mind and body in the most beautiful of settings. Professional therapists are on hand offering treatments from the spa’s extensive menu using ESPA and their own range of products. And during the summer months treatments can be taken on the private Vespasian terrace overlooking the Tramuntana Mountains.
