Hotel Thalasia Costa de Murcia****

Hotel Thalasia Costa de Murcia houses one of Spain´s most modern thalasso therapy centers. The ¨living waters¨ of the Mediterranean sea are rich in marine elements, which achieve dramatic therapeutic effects in the hands of the finest specialists. Whilst the hotel itself feels quite executive, the spa, pools and in particular the treatments are wonderful. The surrounding area is bustling in the summer months but very quiet off season, perfect for long walks through the San Pedro del Pinatar Salt Marshes and sea.

The Hotel

Hotel Thalasia Costa de Murcia**** is one of Spain´s most modern thalasso therapy centers. Read what our clients have to say...

We loved both the hotel and the spa. The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and well sound proofed. The reception staff is very nice and attentive. Great restaurant services, the served food was of good quality. We had previously been in other spas but never in a spa with Thalasso therapy (sea water ) and it is totally different. Once there it was all exceptional, the pools great, jets, jacuzzis, water beds, ... the water is clean, pure and untainted – incredible, extraordinary treatments.

We love this

  • Great spa with unique water properties thanks to being sourced from the Mar Menor. In particular their signature mud treatment is amazing!
  • The nature park and nearby salt marshes are beautiful for walking/cycling
  • Very reasonable prices

This not so much...

  • Not the best location as situated next to a road which can be noisy + long walk to get to the beach
  • The food is ok, buffet style, but not so many healthy or vegetarian options. Breakfast can be very crowded
  • The spa receives quite a lot of day guests over the weekend so the pools can be quite busy with families

Our tips

  • You must visit the salt lakes and the sand dunes of San Pedro del Pinatar. Only a few minutes walk from the hotel you will find one of those natural paradises perfect for those looking to escape the summer crowds and resorts. In this reserve you will see waterfowl and migratory birds such as flamingo, you can explore the trails, enjoy a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean and contemplate one of the most spectacular sunsets on the coast.
  • Enjoy a unique experience and a day on the water along side the local fishermen. Share a typical day at sea and observe their craft in an idyllic environment with a guided boat tour on the Mar Menor waters. Find out about the local species, the casting of the nets, the catch of the day at the local fish market and enjoy a delicious meal on board.
  • The Fiestas de la Virgen del Carmen highlights the connection that the people of Pinar del Rio have with the sea, and their devotion to this virgin protector of fishermen and sailors. Known since medieval times as "Estrella del Mar", it is carried in procession through the waters of the Mar Menor in a pilgrimage in which carnations are also released in memory of sailors who never returned home. This festival takes place on the 16th July and declared of Regional Tourist Interest.
