A survey of over 2,000 UK adults, commissioned by GoCompare, found that two out of five (40%) plan to make resolutions for 2022. Being healthier and happier is on the agenda for many, with other goals including getting fitter, changing diets, and taking up a new sport. But the number one resolution for 2022 is LOSING WEIGHT.
Why is that? Why are so many of us struggling with our weight?
The World Health Organisation states that worldwide obesity has nearly tripled since 1975; in 2020 worldwide 39% of adults aged 18 years and over were overweight (BMI > 25), and 13% were obese (BMI > 30). In Europe, more than half the population is overweight and up to 30% is obese.

Obesity is generally caused by eating too much and moving too little. If you consume high amounts of energy, particularly fat and sugars, but do not burn off the energy through exercise and physical activity, much of the surplus energy will be stored by the body as fat.
In our looks-obsessed society, lots of people think that being overweight is an appearance issue. But being overweight is actually a medical concern because it can seriously affect your health.
Obesity is bad news for both body and mind. Not only can it make you feel tired and uncomfortable, carrying extra weight puts added stress on the body, especially the bones and joints of the legs. Kids and teens who are overweight are more likely to develop diabetes and other health problems. Overweight adults have a higher chance of getting heart disease. Being overweight can also affect your breathing, sleep, mood, and energy levels. So being overweight can affect your entire quality of life.
But we know all that, don´t we? And luckily, it’s never too late to make changes that can help control weight gain and the health problems it causes. Those changes don’t even have to be big. Build your way up to big changes by making a series of small ones.

Yes, Obesity indeed is a medical issue rather than just appearance. Being overweight also is a sign that a person is weaker than those who are fit. I would love the program you will share.
